I have struggled with acne since 8th grade and I can truly say that acne is MUCH MORE than skin-deep. It affects your confidence, social life, mental health, and even the very way you carry yourself. I vividly remember covering my face with my hands at school because I was so embarrassed about my acne. I found myself spending almost every dollar in my paycheck on any and every (and I mean EVERY) skincare product that said it would clear my acne. I spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on skincare that was either not working or making my acne worse. I tried every Pinterest DIY you can think of. Every at-home device on the market. Nothing was working and I felt so defeated.

 

By my junior year in high school, I was so over my acne and I just wanted it gone. I started researching online and became fascinated with cosmetic chemistry and how ingredients worked in the skin. I stopped using the Pinterest DIYs and drugstore skincare and invested in professional-grade, high-quality skincare. THIS is when I actually started seeing changes in my skin! From here, I realized what I was called to do, and that was becoming an esthetician. So my senior year, while everyone else in school was applying for college, I was researching and applying to esthetician schools. 

 

In 2021, I graduated, passed my state boards, and received my Master Esthetician license. I started working at a day spa where I saw over 600 clients of all ages, backgrounds, skin types, and skin conditions. After working there for a year and a half, I decided to open up my DREAM spa, The Glowy Skin Studio, and I could not be happier!
